Serena Williams' nine most cryptic tweets since the U.S. Open
Serena Williams hasn't played a match since her finals win at the U.S. Open capped a magical summer that also included titles at Wimbledon and the Olympics. She takes the court Tuesday afternoon to face Angelique Kerber in the first of three round-robin matches at the WTA Championships.
What has Serena been up to since her dominant summer campaign? In between the HSN visits and red carpet photo ops, Serena has been her usual prolific self on Twitter. Her tweet rate isn't as high as it was in previous years, but she's making up for the difference by writing more mysterious tweets that beg for an explanation.
Serena seems to revel in her open evasiveness on the social media site. It's as if she wants you to wonder what she means. She's like that friend who throws out a tantalizing line at happy hour ("it's been an interesting month,") but follows up with a disingenuous "but I don't want to talk about it."

9. "Am I the only person that gets annoyed when someone text meveveryday?? Text/ bbm Everyday when we r not BFF's is too much. #peaceneeded" (Sept. 30)
8. 'I miss my friend" (Oct. 6) -- Well, sure. Everyone probably stopped texting Serena after that last tweet, fearful that they were the unnamed annoying texter.
7. "Dear camera man in Milan please stop following my around! Your pictures will have people assuming false things!!!! Ugh #OverIt" (Sept. 23) -- Or you could just clear them up here and end all speculation.
6. "2ed is not in my vocab." (Oct. 18) -- She probably means "second" but it reads as "'tude." And we all know THAT'S not true.
5. "Nice guys finish last" (Oct. 18) -- Cough -- FORESHADOWINGTOWTACHAMPIONSHIPSOUTBURST -- cough.
4. "I have come to my crossroads of destiny. Choose wisely." (Sept. 18) -- Somebody must have opened a fortune cookie.
3. "I just had one of those "what was I THINKING???!!!?? moments" ughhh" (Oct. 22) -- I know the feeling. I rented Rock of Ages too.
2. "He breaks your heart. He Believes lies. He goes on dates. He dosent talk to you. U will never feel the same but u survive." (Sept. 15) -- According to my Google search, these are NOT Taylor Swift lyrics.
1. "Check out the hilarious trailer for my boy @MARLONLWAYANS new comedy A HAUNTED HOUSE in theaters 1/11/13 http://movies.yahoo.com RT THIS!" (Oct. 22) -- I know what she means but these words "hilarious" and "comedy" and "Marlon Wayans" do not usually go together. Baffling stuff.
