Delmon Young's throw to home is just a bit off (GIF)

Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz, USA TODAY Sports
Delmon Young, the Detroit Tigers' regular designated hitter, was forced to play left field on Wednesday night in Game 1 of the World Series against the San Francisco Giants.

Delmon Young didn't take long to blow his cover in left field.

With no designated hitters in the lineup Wednesday night in San Francisco, the Detroit Tigers star had to take his act to the outfield.

Young was quickly called upon to make a key defensive play when a fourth-inning Barry Zito hit made its way to the ALCS MVP, forcing a throw to the plate.

Surprise! It didn't go well for Young.

On the upside, that's tremendous form for an overhand skeeball player.

You'll be back in Detroit before you know it, Delmon.

Thanks toTimothy Burke for the GIF.
