Stern: Obama 'not that good' at hoops (VIDEO)

President Obama is an avid basketball fan and plays often. NBA commissioner David Stern doesn't think too highly of Obama's game, though.

NBA Commissioner David Stern recently announced his retirement for 2014, which will make him the longest tenured commissioner in professional sports history when he finishes his duties.

Stern didn't stay out of the news long, deciding to weigh in on his thoughts on President Barack Obama.

Except it had nothing to do with politics. Stern was just critical of Obama's basketball game.

"He's not that good." Stern told Reuters jokingly. "He's a lefty. ...He goes the same way every time."

Stern dodged answering any political questions.

"I'm a passionate Democrat," Stern said. "He's not as good as he thinks he is."

Obama plays basketball regularly, often playing with professional players at the White House.

NBA Commissioner David Stern will step down during the 2013-14 season.

"He relates well to our players," Stern said.

His knowledge of the game isn't bad either. In an old New York Times report, Obama compared himself to the Miami Heat and compared his opponent to Jeremy Lin, essentially suggesting he would beat him easily despite any buzz.
