USC wide receiver Marqise Lee sets a Pac-12 record in loss

A week ago, it was quarterback Matt Barkley and wide receiver Robert Woods who set new school and conference records.

In a laugher against Colorado, Barkley set Pac-12 highs in career touchdown passes, single-game completion percentage and single-game quarterback efficiency rating. Woods set USC records for touchdown catches in a game and receptions in a career.

Fellow wide receiver Marqise Lee etched his own name in the Pac-12 record books during USC's 39-36 loss to Arizona.

Lee had 16 receptions for 345 yards and two touchdowns. The receiving yardage set a conference single-game record, leaving the previous record of 293 yards, set by former Oregon State receiver Mike Hass in 2004, in the dust by the midpoint of the third quarter.

Lee also neared a pair of FBS single-game records.

The FBS record for receiving yards in a game is 405, set by former Louisiana Tech all-American Troy Edwards – against Nebraska in 1998.

The FBS record for all-purpose yardage in a single game is 576 yards, set by former Utah State running back Emmett White in 2000.

Lee ended his day with 478 all-purpose yards: 345 receiving, 123 in the return game. The USC record for all-purpose yards in a single game is 513, set by running back Reggie Bush in 2005.

Despite Lee's memorable individual performance, the Trojans lost to Arizona for the first time since 2009 and only the second time since 2001.
