LSU plays 'pin the tail to the Nick Saban statue'

Alabama coach Nick Saban leads his team onto the field for a game against Mississippi State on Oct. 27.

More fun with Nick Saban statues!

Last week, Mississippi State's "We Believe" campaign led to a sign ("From Behind Enemy Lines… #WeBelieve 8-0") being plastered on the Saban statue outside of Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The Bulldogs believed… but that didn't stop the Crimson Tide from rolling to a 38-7 win in Tuscaloosa. Lesson learned, right?

This week, it's LSU hanging a sign on the bronzed Saban. Mark Ennis of SB Nation puts it best: The Tigers played pin the tail on Nick Saban.

An intrepid LSU fan (or fans) put a tiger tail on the Nick Saban statue at Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium.

It's just a tail, true. But Alabama won't like this, just as Alabama was a little perturbed at Mississippi State's declaration pasted on Saban's statue last week.

On his Twitter account, Alabama safety Nick Perry said of Mississippi State's sign, "Total disrespect. Show no mercy!!!"

What if I told Perry and his teammates that today is Nick Saban's birthday (happy birthday, by the way)? Would that make "total disrespect" into something worse – would that make the Tide even less prone to show mercy?

Thanks to SB Nation and Friends of the Program for the tail.
