Jason Babin upset with 'vile' chants from Eagles fans

As fans start to turn on the Philadelphia Eagles (much earlier this year than usual), Philadelphia Eagles are starting to turn against the fans.

Defensive end Jason Babin was highly critical of chants he heard from the stands during Philly's 30-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

"Some of the most vile things I've ever heard," Babin said of the chants, according to Philly.com. "Talking about people's wives and kids and chanting them. I just thought there's no place for that in the NFL."

"It was upsetting that a few bad apples were chanting that kind of stuff," Babin added. I don't even want to repeat what I heard, it was that bad. And I've got a pretty high threshold for adult jokes."

Babin makes the right point when he identifies "a few bad apples" rather than all Eagles fans. The behavior of a few tend to define the actions of many.

Maybe the polite and respectful Eagles fans would set the record straight in the Philly.com comments section. (These were the first five comments on the page; they are not cherry picked):

-- "perhaps tackle someone and show some pride!"

-- "You're stealing a paycheck, dude. Get over it and play like you're earning it."

-- "Babin shut up and go away. We will all still be here, loyal to our team long after you are gone. We aren't disloyal to the Eagle green. We just don't like some of the idiots wearing it."

-- "Big, huge, tattooed, baby! Play football and quit whining."

-- "I've seen some of the most vile play on the field that I've ever seen, too, Babin. What's your point?"

For a bunch that likes to chant vile things about wives and children, these bad apples sure are a sensitive bunch.
