Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Celtics teach Wizards old-man moves (VIDEO)

Celtics center Kevin Garnett claps during a 100-94 overtime win Wednesday vs. the Wizards.

Highlight reels make basketball seem like a young man's game. The Boston Celtics aren't buying it.

Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett combined for 35 points and 23 rebounds Wednesday in a 100-94 overtime victory against the Washington Wizards. That came with a bit of a bailout from the bench and Brandon Bass, who had five consecutive points in overtime. Pierce and Garnett shot 9-for-28 from the field.

But Pierce and Garnett were at the free throw line to finish off the overtime period, sinking three of four to ice the win. Both played the entire extra period, grabbing four key rebounds.

We're here to talk about old-man awesomeness, though. And this play in the third quarter defines that:

Those are the kinds of moves you learn with 10-plus years in the NBA. Think Pierce had that behind-the-back flip in his bag of tricks coming out of Kansas? Notice how he doesn't telegraph it at all or overthrow. It's smooth.

Garnett, in his younger days, might have jumped over everyone to try to throw down a dunk after that pass. But he recognizes Wizards defender Trevor Booker is strong but not tall, and he drops in a fadeaway.

The Wizards pushed the Celtics hard, trading big quarters. Boston took control with a 29-16 third, but Washington tied it up with a 30-22 fourth. But when it comes down to it, the Wizards aren't as seasoned as the Celtics.

Who is?
