Mike Ditka released from hospital after 'minor stroke'

Chris Strauss, USA TODAY Sports
Former Chicago Bears coach and Hall of Fame tight end Mike Ditka is recovering from a 'minor stroke' earlier in the week.

Former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka has been released from a suburban Chicago hospital after being admitted Friday for what's been called a 'minor stroke.'

According to a tweet from Seth Markman, a senior producer for ESPN NFL Countdown, where Ditka had to skip his usual Sunday broadcast duties this week, the coach was released from the hospital this morning.

Ditka went to the hospital Friday after he was playing cards at a suburban Chicago country club and noticed his "hands weren't working quite right" and that he was having trouble speaking.
