Bizarre hockey goal: Player uses pants to score in Swedish game (VIDEO)

The craziest goal of the second-tier Swedish hockey season

The hidden pants trick, a staple of hockey going back to the days of Lord Stanley of Preston, was used effectively this weekend in a Swedish game when Alexander Wennberg dropped a puck out of the back of his shorts to score a goal in Djurgarden's 6-2 win over Leksand.

As Puck Daddy notes, the puck got caught in Wennberg's pants after goalie Erik Hanses turned it away. He then dumped it over the crease for his second score of the game.

"Jag har lite tur," Wennberg said after the game, according to Sport Bladet. "Det är Johner som skjuter och så tror jag att den tar på målvakten. Sedan känner jag hur den sitter fast på byxan så jag försöker åka in i mål och det blev ju det så jag gjorde väl rätt där."

Loosely translated: "I had a bit of luck. I think the puck goes off the goalkeeper. Since I knew it was attached to the pants, I tried to get it into the goal and it worked well."
