WATCH: Nebraska QB's long, winding touchdown run

Paul Myerberg, USA TODAY Sports
Wisconsin quarterback Curt Phillips catches a pass during a trick play against Nebraska during the Big Ten championship game.

For one play, Nebraska looked like a 10-win team on the verge of punching its ticket to Pasadena.

For every other play, however, the Cornhuskers have looked like a team that spent the last week doing anything other than preparing for a Wisconsin team aiming for its third Rose Bowl bid in a row.

But that one play was pretty sweet: Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez combined one part Turner Gill, another part Tommie Frazier and a third part Eric Crouch (no Scott Frost was needed) in a looping, winding 76-yard touchdown run.

Is this the run of the year?

Nice. Well done, Martinez and Nebraska.

Every other part of the Big Ten title game has been a complete and unmitigated disaster. It's like complete and unmitigated disaster got married, had a baby, that the baby grew up to be Nebraska and the same baby is playing Wisconsin.

The Badgers took a 14-0 lead before Martinez's run cut their lead in half. Since then, Wisconsin has outscored Nebraska 21-3. It's 35-10 with six minutes left in the first half, and there's no reason to think that Nebraska has any chance to make another comeback.

Oh, Wisconsin defensive end David Gilbert just forced a fumble. The Badgers recovered, meaning the wheels have officially come off for the Cornhuskers. (Yes, it's now official.)
