Jets change course, activate Tebow for game versus Chargers

Chris Strauss, USA TODAY Sports
Jets fans won't see Tim Tebow on the field Sunday as the team has ruled him inactive for the game versus San Diego.

Jets fans may get one last chance to say farewell to Tim Tebow after all.

After a report earlier Sunday morning that the team planned to keep Tebow inactive and only go with two quarterbacks, the Jets tweeted that all three of the team's quarterbacks will be active for this afternoon's game versus San Diego.

Via @nyjets:

Greg McElroy, Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow all active for this game, 1st game this season all 3 Jets QBs have been active in a game.

An earlier NFL Network report said that the Jets would only dress two quarterbacks - new starter Greg McElroy and Mark Sanchez - because backup running back Joe McKnight woke up with migraines this morning. If McKnight's headaches cleared up, it likely opened the extra spot to activate Tebow. How much he'll be used in the team's offense is another matter.

This interesting development comes on the heels of an ESPN report Saturday night that Tebow is likely to pursue a trade or sign with his hometown Jacksonville Jaguars in the offseason.
