Bears CB: Calvin Johnson 'the LeBron James of football'

It seems unfair that Calvin Johnson, all 6-foot-5, 237 pounds of him, regularly lines up across from cornerbacks who simply don't measure up. With the Detroit Lions wide receiver, don't you feel sometimes like your watching a man play among boys?

Pro Bowl corner Charles Tillman, who gets his second crack at covering Johnson this Sunday when the Chicago Bears and Lions square off, knows what I'm talking about.

"He can do everything," Tillman said, via the Chicago Tribune. "He's the LeBron James of football. If you could create a player, that's Calvin Johnson -- size, speed, hands, agility, quickness, strength."

In other words, Johnson is a cornerback's nightmare.

Johnson hasn't made that any more clear than in this, his sixth, season. Johnson already has set the NFL record for single-season receiving yards with 1,892. The only question now, heading into Sunday's season finale, is whether Johnson will gain the 108 yards needed to become the first receiver in league history to reach 2,000.

"It would be cool if we did," Tillman said. "But I don't know how."

Last time the Bears and Lions met in Week 7, Chicago did a remarkable job of holding Johnson to just three catches for 34 yards, both season lows. So much has changed since then, though, with Johnson topping 100 yards in eight straight games.

You just get the feeling there's no stopping "Megatron" from making even more history.
