No. 1 hotel perk you can't live without during a retreat?

Readers: I stumbled upon a fun LinkedIn poll that I thought you'd enjoy. Here's the question:

"What's the hotel perk you can't live without during a company retreat?"

Of the 6,897 votes so far, Wi-Fi is the clear winner so far with 58% of the vote.

The full results:

58% Wi-Fi

19% Breakfast

13% Gym

8% Late Check-out

2% Other

In the LinkedIn comments, some people said their No. 1 choice wasn't represented; they'd rather have complimentary "water in the room" or "coffee." (I'm writing this from the Omni Houston Hotel for a conference, where the in-room water - a large bottle - cost $6 but the coffee in the lobby was free.)

When I asked some USA TODAY Road Warriors how they'd vote, Wi-Fi again emerged as the clear winner.

Road warrior Jeff Kahne of Performance Improvement Consulting Group told me via email that all of the items listed above in the poll are in his definition for a good hotel.

"None of them are what are considered 'delighters,' but if they are not there it's very noticeable," he said.

Road warrior Nancy R. Walters, president of Very Special Events, says free Wi-Fi is her No. 1 choice, followed by free bottled water.

Road warrior Phil Bush, an Atlanta-based sales consultant, leaned towards picking coffee or water since Wi-Fi is a "must."

And Bob Beilstein, a road warrior from North Syracuse, N.Y., says "Free Internet/Wi-Fi is at the top of my list as well. It offends me when a hotel wants to charge me."

How about you?
