N.Y. restaurant unveils mouth-watering Instagram menu

USATODAY
CNET.com discusses the new Instagram menu created with hashtags for a New York restaurant.

Tech tracker CNET.com tells us about a fascinating social-media innovation that I bet Instagram fans will especially like hearing about...

Do you know social media users who don't love to take photos of restaurant meals? I sure don't.

Well, New York City's Comodo restaurant has harnessed the passionate foodie by launching an appetizing Instagram menu. That's right - an Instagram menu.

By leveraging hashtags, they've assembled a collection of mouth-watering photos taken by customers of some of their favorite dishes.

Among the dishes you might see on the Instagram menu are Comodo's swordfish ceviche, seared duck breast and poblano pepper pasta, CNET.com says.

"The restaurant has decided to embrace all the Instagram users who snap pictures of their food after it's delivered to the table," reporter Amanda Kooser writes. "Seeing the photos may help sway your dining decision one way or another."

The menu is assembled using the #comodomenu hashtag.

When Kooser published her story, the menu was based on 55 photos submitted by customers.

It's a good way for restaurants to show photos of their dishes since menus are rarely visual, she notes.

This seems like a no-brainer idea for the hospitality industry. Wouldn't it be fun to see a cocktail menu at your local hip hotel bar on Instagram?
