Hard Rock Hotels plays up election season with music

USATODAY

As Election Day has approached, the music-infused Hard Rock Hotels chain has been playing up election season not with gimmicky, red-white-and-blue cocktails — but with a special "Rock the Vote" playlist exclusively for its tune-hungry guests.

And, now, Hotel Check-In has secured exclusive access to the music just for you.

For the next 24 hours, USA TODAY and Hotel Check-In readers are invited to download Hard Rock's 14-song playlist without having to pay to check into a room.

The playlist features buzzworthy artists such as Helena, Gary Clark Jr. and Delta Rae, along with beloved indie bands such as The Flaming Lips and Bloc Party. To download the playlist, visit music.hardrockhotels.com and enter code: HRHV7.

The playlist — curated with Warner Bros Records — is part of Hard Rock's Volume 7 collection launched about two weeks ago. Volume 7 also features a Breast Cancer Research Foundation playlist curated by Sara Bareilles.

Playlists are a clever part of the chain's complimentary music amenity program called "The Sound of Your Stay."

Hotel Check-In has discussed other aspects of this program in previous stories, such as the fact that hotel guests can borrow a Fender guitar or a digital mixer.

At check-time, guests are also asked their favorite genre of music and it will be playing when their walk into their room. Finally, guests also receive a code at check-in time to download — for free — their choice of three themed playlists; guests get to keep the music when they leave.

Readers: Do you think other hotels do a good job with providing music as an amenity?
