Why waste precious energy going to another Grammys when you've already won ten of them? And an Emmy. And an Oscar. And a Tony.
John Legend did not attend the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday in Los Angeles and Chrissy Teigen joked that he wasn't going because he's officially an EGOT now (a person who's won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony awards are referred to as EGOTs).
The model snapped a photo of the 40-year-old snuggled up comfortably and sleeping on a couch and posted it to her Twitter account with a caption explaining why they weren't going to the awards show.
"No Grammys for us today. john got and EGOT and egot lazy," wrote Teigen.
In 2018, Legend became the first black man and the youngest to reach EGOT status when he won an Emmy for producing "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert."
