Savannah Guthrie welcomed her first child at 42 years old.

Many women feel the pressure to conceive by their 30's, but Savannah Guthrie says there's beauty in having kids later in life.

The "Today" show co-host welcomed her first child, daughter Vale, at 42 years old. Her son, Charley, arrived two years later.

Although Guthrie told People that she's always wanted to be a mom, by the time she married her husband, Michael Feldman, they didn't think kids would be in the cards for them.

"When we found out we were pregnant, I don’t think there were two happier people on this planet," the mom of two said.

Guthrie said that having her kids in her 40s allowed her to enjoy her kids in a different way than she would've if she was younger.

"I definitely have a good head on my shoulders, I am able to prioritize, and I think there’s a luxury to feel calm enough and not to feel the same pressures as in your 20s and 30s, when you are really trying to make your career happen," she said. "Now, I can really take my time and enjoy our kids."

Guthrie recently opened up during an episode of "Today" about how her and her husband almost split up on the day of his marriage proposal

After dating for over five years, Guthrie was ready to get married and gave Feldman an ultimatum, but little did she know, he was already planning on proposing to her later that same day.

Guthrie announced that she was four months pregnant during her wedding weekend.
