Book buzz: Gillian Flynn, 'Fifty Shades' finds screenwriter

Staying power:Gone Girl , a psychological thriller by Gillian Flynn, has been in the top 10 of USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list for 17 weeks, holding its own among powerhouses such as E.L. James, J.K. Rowling and James Patterson. Carol Memmott analyzes why the book is so popular, and interviews Flynn about her success.

Becoming Barbra: Bill Desowitz gives Hello, Gorgeous: Becoming Barbra Streisand by William J. Mann ***1/2 stars out of four, writing that Mann's "meticulous research and insightful analysis go deeper than any previous biography." Plus, look through photos from the book and read about the opening night of her tour.

'Shades' get a screenwriter:Terra Nova co-creator Kelly Marcel will write the screenplay for the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. (And of course, the outspoken Bret Easton Ellis has something to say about it.)
