Animal Farm: Actor Andy Serkis's performance-capture studio, the Imaginarium, has acquired the rights to adapt George Orwell's satireAnimal Farm for film. Serkis, who is known for roles such as Gollum in Lord of the Rings, is set to act, direct, and co-produce.

Dysfunctional families: Nothing says "Happy Thanksgiving" like a list of books that center around family drama. Check out this list from Publishers Weekly, including Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple, which USA TODAY's Korina Lopez gave 3 1/2 stars out of four.
