And over on 'Homeland,' a key person has gone rogue

Donna Freydkin
USA TODAY

So, Homeland was pretty major on Sunday.

SPOILER ALERT

It was the first new episode in two weeks and now we know that Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) has gone rogue.

The US embassy has been decimated, leading to the loss of 36 lives.

The top-secret book, containing the names of undercover CIA "assets," has been handed over to the terrorists.

And in 13 Hours in Islamabad, after US staff is in the process of being evacuated, Quinn has gone off on his own to find the head baddie behind the massacre. Carrie (Claire Danes) is staying behind to support him.

Yes, Friend owned this episode, but can we please talk about playwright and actor Tracy Letts, who as the slick CIA director Andrew Lockhart, proves that he's more than a hyphen in terms of work. The dude can do anything. Yes, he wrote August: Osage County and Killer Joe, and scored a Tony for starring in Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? on stage. We bow down.

Oh and Dennis Boyd (Mark Moses), husband of the ambassador, is a traitor. And clearly someone who, no matter what, can't keep his word. Not even when given the belt he asked for. Yes, for the very purpose you might imagine.

Um yeah, no wonder the British royals love the series.

Oh, and there's this:
