Target's newest designer collab selling out (but not like Lilly Pulitzer)

Update:

Target spokesman Joshua Thomas says that as of 7 a.m. ET, no products had sold out entirely. However, the Marimekko line is experiencing an usual midday spike, so shelves are now starting to empty. Online, It looks as though the Marimekko hats are selling out as of Sunday afternoon.

The women's canvas hat no longer appear available for purchase online.

It's "not uncommon for the line to sell out over time," says Thomas, who's overseen many of Target's over-175 designer collaborations.

Original story:

It's been a year since Target's collaboration with Lily Pulitzer broke the Internet and immediately sold out in stores. Today, the retailer's line with Finnish design house Marimekko hits stores, and early signs show the collection of graphic beach accessories and dinnerware won't cause as much pandemonium.

We went to the store to check it out.

While the Pulitzer launch had shoppers waiting in line to enter the store, the arrival of Marimekko was relatively mellow, as Life Managing Editor Alison Maxwell noted.

And we went online.

This online-only dress is still available in all sizes as of Sunday morning.

Unlike last year, the website is working and product still seems well-stocked online as of 11 a.m. ET. (We did a little Mother's Day browsing.) "We had teams working around the clock" to make for a quick and easy experience, says Thomas. The Marimekko collection has about the same amount of product as the Lilly Pulitzer one did.

So enjoy some chaos-free shopping.

You likely won't need to fend off any other shoppers to enjoy choosing from over 200 pieces of tops, cover ups, swimsuits, pants, shorts, skirts, hats, plates, pillows and even boogie boards that range from $7.99 - $499.99.

May we suggest...
