5 things to binge-watch this weekend: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson edition

The Rock, in his many forms.

Welcome to the year of The Rock.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is the Sexiest Man Alive. He's the highest-paid actor in Hollywood. And he's singing his heart out in the upcoming Moana. In honor of all things Rock, we rounded up five movies and TV shows you should watch from his career. We didn't include old clips from the WWE, but feel free to check some of those out, too.

If you liked Entourage and Jerry MaguireBallers

One of The Rock's most enjoyable projects is also one of his more low-key adventures. While we've seen every stage of filming the upcoming Baywatch and Jumanji on his Instagram, and the press tour for Moana has dominated the latter part of this year, each season of Ballers has come relatively under the radar. But that doesn't mean it's not noteworthy. Johnson plays a former football player turned agent, in this often-vulgar and hilarious comedy.

Stream Ballers on HBO Go.

If you are a little 'furious': Fast Five

Johnson, aka Hobbs, joined the Fast and Furious franchise at the fifth installment, and to be honest, the movies have been on a considerable upswing over the past few years. Fast Five is probably the best entry in the franchise as a whole, thanks in no small part to Johnson.

Rent Fast Five on Amazon, iTunes or Google Play.

If you'd rather laugh than be wowed by stunts: Get Smart

You may have forgotten that the actor was in this 2008 action-comedy with Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway (2008 was a weird time), but he plays the dashing double agent, Agent 23. This movie is nothing if not full of hijinx.

Rent Get Smart on Amazon or Google Play.

If you're into muscles (lots and lots of muscles): Pain & Gain

The Rock got that from his days in the WWE, and even though he's left wrestling, he has not left his impressive physique behind. The Sexiest Man Alive showed it off in Michael Bay's body-builder action comedy (really) alongside Mark Wahlberg and Anthony Mackie.

Rent Pain & Gain on Amazon or Google Play.

If you forgot how it all began: The Game Plan

At one point, The Rock was not the highest-paid actor in Hollywood. He was a wrestler who took on the starring role in a very cute Disney movie. In The Game Plan, Johnson played an NFL player who's high-flying lifestyle is interrupted by the discovery he has an eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. Will the tutu-clad kiddie break through his hard exterior? Yes, yes she will.

Stream The Game Plan on Amazon with a Starz subscription.
