Stephen Colbert spoofs Mariah Carey's New Year's Eve mess
As if Mariah Carey wasn't "mortified" enough after her New Year's Eve debacle, she's now being spoofed on late-night TV.
On the Late Show, Stephen Colbert returned from holiday hiatus with his own Mariah moment.
"Here's the thing, I am on team Mariah here," he said. "This was not her fault. Mariah, you're welcome to come on my show any time...I'm sorry, there's nothing in my prompter here."
"Am I supposed to be singing right now?" he asked, as dancers waving feathers flooded the stage around a very confused Colbert.
Carey spoke about the drama in a new interview on Tuesday. "All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business," she said. "I’m of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time."
