Twitter thinks Trump's Liberty Ball was a rough talent show

To say Donald and Melania Trump (in a glamorous white gown she collaborated on) were the main attraction at Trump's inaugural balls might be an understatement.

At least, that was Twitter's take. Social media users seemed overwhelmingly unimpressed by new president's entertainment lineup, which was broadcast on live TV.

With A-list talent refusing to participate, and backlash mounting for those who signed on, headliners included the Rockettes, a kid band called Pelican 212, The Piano Guys, a musical group which turned Top 40 pop songs (including Fight Song by an angered Rachel Platten) into piano and cello-based tunes, Sam Moore and Michael Flatley, who introduced the cast of Lord of the Dance.

Here's how that all went over.

Songwriter Savan Kotecha, who wrote What Makes You Beautiful for One Direction, was the opposite of pleased that his song was used by The Piano Guys.

Rachel Platten wasn't thrilled, either.

The Piano Guys responded to Platten on Twitter. "Our performance tonight, which combined Fight Song and Amazing Grace had nothing to do with Hillary Clinton or politics," they wrote. "We chose to perform our version of Fight Song/Amazing Grace - it was not endorsed by Rachel Platten. We love Rachel and we love her song."

But not everyone was hating on Trump's lineup
