'SNL' imagines 'Game of Thrones' spinoffs, including 'SVU' crossover with Mariska Hargitay
"Game of Thrones" may be gearing up for its final season. But we don't have to say goodbye just yet.
"Saturday Night Live" imagined the prequels, sequels and spinoff series that could keep "GOT" fans entertained long after Season 8 comes to a close.
There's "Castle Black," a "sexy movie drama about forbidden love" starring Jon Snow and a White Walker (Heidi Gardner), who isn't so happy that Snow hasn't told his family about her yet. And "Arya," a cartoon inspired by MTV's "Daria" that follows Arya Stark as she tackles a different kind of battle: high school.
For those looking for something a little lighter, there's "The Queen of Kings Landing," a sitcom about the home life of Samwell Tarly and Gilly.
"Sam, what happened to the kitchen? Were we attacked by the free folk?" Cecily Strong as Gilly asks.
"Even worse," Sam (Kyle Mooney) replies. "I tried to make dinner!"
Other crossover ideas: "Cersei and the City," "No Ballers," "The Marvelous Mrs. Melisandre," and the family-friendly "Hodor's House."
And the show's gruesome themes make it a perfect fit for a crossover with "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Enter the show's stars, Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay, wearing "Game of Thrones" costumes but investigating crimes as usual.
In typical "SVU" fashion, Ice-T has a tough time grappling with all the terrible things that happened to the victim -- and, knowing "Thrones," there are more than enough graphic storylines for the team to investigate. Hargitay confirms his gory laundry list before the teaser cuts to black.
"Executive Producer: Dire Wolf," the next screen reads.
