Jessica Simpson's parents file for divorce

Papa Joe is going solo.

Joe Simpson — who, for a while, seemed as ubiquitous as his daughter Jessica — is divorcing his wife since 1978, Tina. The couple are parents to Ashlee as well as Jessica.

"It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved," a rep for the Simpsons tells People. "Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time."
