Honoree Seth MacFarlane speaks onstage at Variety's 3rd annual Power of Comedy event benefiting the Noreen Fraser Foundation held at Avalon on Nov. 17, 2012 in Hollywood.

Curious what Seth MacFarlane's Oscars hosting style will be? At Saturday night's Variety 3rd Annual Power of Comedy event, presented by Bing in Hollywood, which honored MacFarlane for his contributions to comedy, the Family Guy creator offered a window into what we can expect in February, skewering celebs like Russell Brand and the very organization handing him an award.

MacFarlane, whose last film Ted became the highest-grossing R-rated film ever, was first roasted by comedians Bill Maher, Alex Borstein & Rachel MacFarlane, Chris D'Elia, Seth Green, Anthony Jeselnik, Nick Kroll, Patton Oswalt, Giovanni Ribisi, Paul Scheer, Max Greenfield and Amy Schumer. The evening, hosted by Joel McHale, benefited the Noreen Fraser Foundation, which focuses on women's cancer research (MacFarlane lost his mother to cancer in 2010).

After a long evening of jokes, MacFarlane finally took the stage, drink in hand, around 11 p.m. Here's a few of his jokes:

"There's nothing that means more to me than receiving an award that I never heard of until six weeks ago."

"I've looked at those red carpet photos you've sent me, I'll still just keep my hands in front of my crotch, thanks."

"It's good that Variety is doing this, though. It's about time the entertainment press clean up its act, because they've become increasingly cold and opportunistic, taking advantage of others' misfortunes for a story. Maria Menounos, I saw your piece on Extra. 'How to put together a cute outfit using what's left after Sandy'? What the (expletive)?

"The entertainment press really is going down the tubes. The Hollywood Reporter has a gossip section now and Entertainment Weekly has to constantly tell me how Family Guy sucks ..., and how 2 Broke Girls is amaaaazing."

"It's going to take generous contributions to beat this disease. It will take the entire Hollywood community. We have got to pull out our checkbooks and pretend that cancer research is a black guy running for president."

"Russell Brand and Amy Poehler are the previous two award winners. And then both got divorced within a year of receiving it. I'm starting to think if you keep this trophy in your house it puts out, like, a vibe that makes you die alone. So I'm going to take mine and hide it in Nancy Grace's panic room and see what happens."

"I humbly accept this award with the genuine hope that the Noreen Fraser Foundation is able to affect significant advancement in cancer research, with the sincere belief that in the past 10 minutes I have Brett Ratner'd myself out of the Oscars."
