CNN's Anderson Cooper ducks during Gaza explosion

Ann Oldenburg, USA TODAY
Anderson Cooper reports for CNN Sunday night.

As he was reporting from the violence-ridden Gaza City on Sunday night (about 2 a.m. local time), CNN's Anderson Cooper was interrupted by a loud, nearby explosion.

"Whoa," he said, ducking down and turning back to look at the blast.

"Well, that was a rather large explosion," Cooper said, as he stood up and faced the cameras again. "That was probably the largest explosion that we have heard just in the past — really in the past hour."

Meanwhile, Rosie O'Donnell filled in for Cooper on his talk show today. Nene Leakes was her co-host.
