Angelina Jolie planning to quit acting

Angelina Jolie has caused a lot of chatter not only among fans, but among moms, by saying she's thinking about quitting acting.

"I will do some films and I am so fortunate to have the job, it's a really lucky profession to be a part of and I enjoy it," Jolie said in an interview with Britain's Channel 4 News. "But if it went away tomorrow I would be very happy to be home with the children."

Jolie, 37, continued, "I think I'm going to have to give up the acting as the kids hit the teenage years, anyway, too much to manage at home."

On The View, the co-hosts yakked with guest Jenny McCarthy for several minutes today about when it's most important to stay home with the kids. "It's difficult at any age to leave a child," said Barbara Walters. "From my own experience, the teenage years are very difficult," she added.

McCarthy said, "I only have one baby (son Evan, 10) and I only will, so I feel like I do want to work towards that goal of being able to stay home. I feel like I've missed so much already."

Angelina is echoing the words of fiance Brad Pitt, who said last year that he was thinking about leaving the world of acting when he's 50 (Dec. 18, 2013).

But Jolie may beat him to it.

If she's going to quit by the time the kids are teens, consider this: Her oldest child, son Maddox, turns 13 on Aug. 5, 2014.

This isn't the first time she has mentioned quitting the business. "Acting helped me as I was growing up. It helped me learn about myself, helped me travel, helped me understand life, express myself, all those wonderful things," Jolie said in a 2010 interview with Vanity Fair. "So I'm very, very grateful, it's a fun job. It's a luxury. Look, I'm at work today in the middle of Venice. But I don't think I'll do it much longer."
