  • The star of 'Silver Linings Playbook' is open to dancing in primetime

Bradley Cooper is honest, blunt and deadly funny.

He's in Los Angeles, but freely admits that he was up early to watch the Golden Globe nominations live. Best of all, his buddy and Hangover co-star Ed Helms was one of the announcers.

"I'm like a morning person. You know, it's one of those weird things when you watch the mouths (moving). Is that a B? And then you hear it and it's over and it's, 'Wow,'" says Cooper, nominated for best actor in a comedy for his role as a manic dancer in Silver Linings Playbook.

What does the nomination mean to him personally? "We made this movie in Philly last fall. You never know what's going to happen," says Cooper. "I hit the jackpot being able to work on this. On a personal level, playing that character certainly took me places I'd never gone to before on film. Being able to do it in an authentic way – you know when you're not faking it. It's a very healing feeling. It's one of the best feelings as an actor to successfully explore something."

He also showed off his killer moves in the film. But he gives all the credit to his co-star and fellow nominee. "Jen Lawrence did the lion's share of the dancing. I had a lot of Bar Mitzvahs growing up. I had no time to rehearse," says Cooper.

And because he's a populist, he'd even consider shaking it on prime time. "I'm not opposed to doing Dancing With the Stars," Cooper says with a laugh.
