Keith Urban: Globes date night with Nicole Kidman

• Urban received a best song nomination, while his wife, Nicole Kidman, received two acting nods.

Keith Urban does not have to think hard who will be his date for the Golden Globes ceremony.

The best original song nominee (For You from Act of Valor) will be taking wife Nicole Kidman, who also received two Golden Globe nominations

"I'm going to take my wife," says Urban, laughing. "It will be a very special date night at the Golden Globes."

Urban says when he heard the news about the nominations, he immediately called Kidman, who is shooting the Grace Kelly biopic in Belgium.

"She is always my first phone call every morning," says Urban. "But she was definitely my first call today. It was an extraordinary phone call."

It was also the rare call when they were both congratulating each other for receiving award nominations.

"We always look at these things as about us anyway. If Nic wins something, it's us. If I win something, it's us. So today it was just a literal way of feeling that joy," says Urban.

"I feel so pleased to have the support I have from her and she more than has it from me," he adds. "I spend many hours on the movie set where she is and she's out on tour and in the studio with me.

"I just feel extremely fortunate that in this massive world, we have found each other."

Urban is particularly proud of Kidman's nomination for the controversial pic The Paperboy.

"I love how she dives into characters," he says. "There's a certain risk and courageousness to her decisions. She inspires me as an artist."
