- Naomi Watts is marking her nomination by having cake -- for her son's birthday
It's a big day for Naomi Watts.
But not why you'd think.
Yes, she got her very first Globe nomination for playing a real-life tsunami survivor in The Impossible. But when her publicist called her to tell her the good news, Watts let out a little yell.
"It's my son's birthday today. He's upset that I made that sound. I had to explain what it was. Mommy got good news. And he said, 'It's my birthday,'" Watts says with a laugh.
So, no partying for her and partner Liev Schreiber tonight? "Yes, we're having cake after school. It's all about Kai today. I won't get to celebrate until this weekend," says Watts.
