Samuel L. Jackson maybe drops f-bomb on 'SNL'

Samuel L. Jackson tweeted this photo in (mock) defense of his potty-mouthed outburst on 'SNL' Dec. 15.

Surprises abounded on last night's cameo-packed Saturday Night Live Christmas show. One of the more entertaining gifts? Samuel L. Jackson's (maybe) one-two punch of unscripted profanity.

At the end of Kenan Thompson's latest What Up with That? sketch, the Django Unchained star grumbled to Thompson's DeAndre Cole that the host's penchant for running out of time before his guests can open their mouths was "(expletive)". Just prior, Jackson seemed to spit, "Man, (expletive)!"

A laughing Thompson didn't miss a beat: "Come on, Sam ... That costs us money."

Cole's other guest, Portlandia's smirking Carrie Brownstein, zipped her lips with two of her fingers.

On Twitter later, Jackson insisted that though he indeed slipped up with one bad word, no f-bombs were dropped in the making of that particularly piece of comedy: "I only said FUH not (expletive)! K was sposed to cut off da (expletive), blew it!!" The accompanying photo shows him wide-eyed and slack-jawed, seemingly pleading his, um, innocence.
