Madonna's clothes bring big bids at auction

A portrait of Madonna by famed photographer Herb Ritts sold for $35,155 during Julien's two-day Icons & Idols: Rock n' Roll auction in Beverly Hills, Calif., that started Friday, Nov. 8, 2014.

Seems there are plenty of people living in a material world who want some of Madonna's material goods.

Bidders from around the world paid some big buck for items that went up for auction from Madonna's professional and personal life during the Icons & Idols: Rock n' Roll auction in Beverly Hills at Julien's Auctions house.

Among the top sellers, according to AP:

- The gown Madonna wore in her Material Girl video sold for $73,125.

- The wedding dress she wore when she married Sean Penn in 1985 was estimated to go for $40,000 to $60,000 and wound up selling for $81,250.

- Her jacket from Desperately Seeking Susan sold for $252,000.

- And earring worn in the film fetched $34,375.

- Her gown from the film Evita sold for $15,000.

- Her A League of Their Own baseball uniform went for $31,250.
