Artists speak up about Shia LaBeouf's rape

Fans and followers were surprised by Shia LaBeouf's new interview, in which he says a woman raped him during his #IAMSORRY performance art installation earlier this year in Los Angeles.

He tells Dazed & Confused magazine that a "woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me. ...There were hundreds of people in line when she walked out with disheveled hair and smudged lipstick."

A rep for LaBeouf has not commented, but the collaborators have now taken to Twitter to speak up about what went on. British artist Luke Turner and Finnish artist Nastja Sade Ronkko worked with LaBeouf on the installation, which allowed visitors to sit in a room alone with the actor, as he wore a paper bag on his head.

Ronkko writes that they didn't say people could do "whatever they wanted" to LaBeouf.

Turner, in responding to questions by Piers Morgan as to how this could have happened, writes that it was "unclear" what was going on.
