State of the Union: Alyssa Milano slams Trump's 'inflammatory, shaming' abortion rhetoric

Regardless of whether they watched Tuesday's State of the Union address or not, celebrities hit up Twitter to share their opinions on President Trump's speech, from his push for a border wall to his anti-abortion agenda, or to share what they were watching instead.

In a series of tweets, actress and activist Alyssa Milano slammed Trump's "inflammatory, shaming rhetoric," adding that "every day, women across America face deeply personal decisions of whether or not to continue a pregnancy."

"@RealDonaldTrump and his minions in the @GOP want to take away the most fundamental freedom women have: freedom of their own bodies," she tweeted. "Government doesn’t get any bigger than when it is in a uterus. Stand for choice. Stand for freedom. #StateOfTheWoman #WeWontGoBack"

The "Charmed" alum also tweeted about affordable health care, trans rights, immigrationthe press and the border wall: "If @realdonaldtrump is serious about uniting us, he should remember one crucial thing: walls divide."

Naturally, the late-night crowd had thoughts.

"Full Frontal" host Samantha Bee was convinced that "Nancy Pelosi is 100% reading a Jodi Picoult novel back there."

"The Daily Show" host Trevor Noah joked about Pelosi's hand gesture: "Not the first time Trump has got the clap."

"Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon interpreted Pelosi's sideways clap as more of a clapback.

"Community" star Yvette Nicole Brown compared Pelosi's body language to that of a patronizing mom: "It looks like she’s saying, 'Here’s your little clappy-clap. Juice box is next, little guy.' "

"The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert likened the speech to a new Netflix series: "I loved watching the #SOTU tonight. It was my favorite episode of 'Russian Doll.' "

Later, during Colbert's live special, he took note of Trump's proclamation that the U.S. is considered the hottest economy anywhere in the world. Referencing Trump's infamous comment about daughter Ivanka, he imagined the president's next line: “It is so hot, if it wasn’t my economy, perhaps I’d be dating it.”

"Late Night" host Seth Meyers was struck by Trump's argument for ending the investigations into whether his campaign was working with the Russians in the run-up to the 2016 election: they're hurting the economy.

"An economic miracle is taking place in the United States," Trump said. "And the only thing that can stop it are foolish wars, politics, or ridiculous partisan investigations. If there is going to be peace and legislation, there cannot be war and investigation. It just doesn't work that way."

In his live "Closer Look" segment, Meyers replied, "You think the investigations are hurting the economy? If anything, you've created thousands of jobs for lawyers. This is such an insane argument. It's like a guy who gets pulled over for drunk driving and says, 'Officer, I can't focus on the road with a Breathalyzer in my mouth.' "

Jimmy Kimmel remarked on the length of Trump's speech, noting that "he spoke for so long, Robert Mueller handed down another five indictments. The speech was longer than his marriage to (Trump's second wife) Marla Maples."

Other stars tried to find the evening's bright spots.

Actress Elizabeth Banks sent her congratulations to the "Congresswomen for representing." She added that their coordinated, suffragette-themed, all-white apparel was "awesome."

"Insecure" star Natasha Rothwell praised former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who delivered the Democratic party's rebuttal to Trump's speech.

"Look at @staceyabrams delivering the truth and not selling lies," she tweeted.

Best-selling author Jodi Picoult called out the RNC for their tweet about Abrams, whom they dubbed "Sour Grapes Stacey."

"In what world is it OK for the Twitter handle of a major political party to call a politician names, & hashtag the taunt? A world where the president has modeled how to bully. If you're a Republican, I hope you'll comment on this and tell the @GOP this isn't right. #BeBest."

Meanwhile, Chrissy Teigen opted to tune into another show during the president's speech. "Now watching: state of below deck reunion," she tweeted.

"Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen apparently was on the same page. He tweeted Bravo's, "Below Deck Reunion > SOTU."
