Miley Cyrus is vowing to "take care of" the 12-year-old daughter of former "Voice" contestant Janice Freeman who died Saturday at age 33.

A statement Freeman's management posted to her Instagram Stories said the singer died of "an extreme case of pneumonia and a blood clot that traveled to her heart."

Freeman, who competed as part of Cyrus' team during Season 13 of NBC's singing competition in 2017, had an inspirational story: she had beaten cervical cancer and was living with the autoimmune disease lupus. Her impact on her coach is evident from the multiple Instagram posts Cyrus dedicated to her.

"To hug you one more time @janicefreeman ...." Cyrus captioned a post on Monday.

"I made a promise to you here on earth and will keep that promise as you watch from heaven," she continued. "To take care of your precious little girl, my baby sister. To shine light on your husband and mother when days are dark!"

In addition to her daughter Hannah, Freeman leaves behind her husband Dion, her mother Janice, and brothers and sisters, according to her management team.

Earlier Monday in another, NSFW Instagram, the "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" artist shared her deeply-felt grief.

"I miss you so much it hurts. Everywhere ..... but so did you. So often. So much pain and no one would ever notice because of the smile and joy you constantly radiated," Cyrus shared. "I am trying my best today to celebrate your existence but I can’t help but just deeply mourn over your absence.

"All those texts I would receive, just of you saying that your (sic) praying for ME," Cyrus recalled. "How you were so selfless I’ll never understand. The way you found the good in everything.

"You are now a rainbow," she added. "Something beautiful that comes after something so gloomy."

Cyrus revealed, "You were the only artist EVER, that I tried so hard to "sign," was going to create a label just so YOU could be on it.  (She said  she hopes to release records Freeman worked on with Brandi Carlile "at an appropriate time.")

Although Chloe Kohanski was declared the eventual winner of Season 13, Cyrus said she considered Freeman, who finished 11th, the true victor.

"Everyone got it so wrong on our season together of The Voice because no matter what has been recorded or remembered YOU won my angel," she continued. "You are not only the best singer that show has ever had the honor of having on that stage but the best (expletive) singer in the world. What makes me sick is we always wait till the best are gone to recognize them and truly tell them what their art meant to us."

After "The Voice," Cyrus and Freeman stayed in touch. In January 2018, Freeman revealed that Cyrus covered half a year of expenses for her family when she fell on hard times.

"(Cyrus) found us placement until we found permanent housing, gave me the deposit, covered me for 6 months so I can get on my feet!" Freeman tweeted. "@MileyCyrus you are one of my closest friends and what you did for me and my family. Im praying GOD gives you the desire of your heart!"
