Mr. Brightside: Although he and partner Bristol Palin were eliminated this week, they got their highest scores from the 'DWTS' judges so far.

Well, it was a short but sweet run, and I am delighted that we went out with our highest scores yet. Rock 'n' roll is extremely challenging and fast. I think Bristol did a tremendous job with improving her speed with this dance, and it was awesome not to be at the bottom of the leader board.

However, it was not awesome not being chosen for the team dance. Both Bristol and I felt a little awkward to be the last ones standing there. I was at least hoping for Derek (Hough) and Shawn (Johnson) to throw us a bone! Oh, well, it's all good.

Immediately after the show, we went to Jimmy Kimmel Live! and had a fun time. As a bonus, we got to watch Miguel perform. His album Kaleidoscope Dream is one of my favorites right now.

Our trip to New York was great. Bristol slept the whole way while I filmed myself waking her up and later put it on Twitter. Well, at least I thought it was funny.

Although the trip was brief, it was nice to spend a little time together without the stress of the show hanging over us. The Trump Soho Hotel's vibe is really relaxing and the beds are insane! I slept like a rock. I guess you really don't know how intensely you are burning the candle at both ends until you stop.

Thursday morning, we appeared on The View to discuss our elimination and how dreadful it was not being picked for the team dance. It's always great to see the lovely Sherri Shepherd, whom I got to know when she competed on Season 14. She has such great energy and brightens up the day.

Immediately after The View, I flew back to L.A. and started rehearsals for a results show number that I'm dancing with Chelsie Hightower. We will be dancing for Jason Mraz. I love his music, so I'm really looking forward to it.

So, no rest for me yet. But, honestly, I love being busy and dancing on the show. I'm proud of all Bristol and I accomplished this season. Even though it was short, she showed consistent improvement and I'm really proud as a coach.
