MTV, home of Jersey Shore, is out to help the Jersey Shore after Hurricane Sandy.

The cable network announced plans for Restore the Shore, a one-hour fundraising special due Nov. 15 at 11 p.m. live ET/tape delayed PT, from its Times Square studio.

Money raised will go toward rebuilding Seaside Heights, N.J., the boardwalk town often seen in MTV's reality show that was hit especially hard by the storm. Cast members from Jersey Shore will appear in the special along with other guest stars to be announced later.

MTV is partnering with Architecture for Humanity, a non-profit group that provides design and construction services to communities in need, the network says.

An NBC telethon Friday night raised $23 million for relief efforts by the Red Cross, and along with other media companies, MTV parent Viacom announced a $1 million donation last week.
