TV Sunday: 'Simpsons,' 'Family Guy,' 'Survivor'

Robert Bianco, USA TODAY
If you find the idea of a 'Family Guy' nativity story offensive, watch something else and be grateful that you live in a country where spoofs like this can run without causing mayhem in the streets.

The Simpsons
Fox, Sunday, 8 ET/PT

Oh, Homer, is there no end to your bad parenting? This time, Homer sets out to help his father move, and promptly manages to lose his childrens' dog, Santa's Little Helper. It's up to Grandpa to set everything right — though really, if he had been a better parent himself, the kids might not be facing these problems.

Survivor
CBS, Sunday, 8:30 ET/PT

We've reached the end of another Survivor cycle, which means the show is about to spend two hours crowning a winner and then another reunion hour airing all the losers' complaints. If that sounds like fun to you and you're planning to record it, keep in mind that it's subject to a football-inspired delay, so plan accordingly.

Family Guy
Fox, Sunday, 9 ET/PT

Tired of seasonal sweetness and light? Then you may be up for the Nativity Story as told by Family Guy — with Peter as Joseph, Lois as Mary and, yes, Stewie as the Baby Jesus. This is not a show that pays much heed to the boundaries of good taste, so if the idea of the outing strikes you as offensive, odds are the show will too. So do yourself a favor and just don't watch, while being grateful that you live in a country where spoofs like this can run without causing mayhem in the streets.

Homeland
Showtime, Sunday, 10 ET/PT

TV's best drama reaches the end of its second season. I don't know whether Brody lives or dies; all I know is that anyone who's watched up to here would be foolish to stop now.
