TV tonight: 'Community,' 'Crazy Ones,' 'Scandal'

Community/The Big Bang Theory | NBC/CBS, 8 ET/PT

'Scandal,' with Kerry Washington and Scott Foley, wraps up its season a bit early Thursday.

Two good comedy choices open the evening, one new, one old. The new one is Community, which reaches the end of its 13-episode season. The old is a back-to-back airing of two of the funniest Big Bangs of the season — the first with Sheldon punishing Leonard for a past transgression, the second with the gang splitting into teams for a scavenger hunt. Among other things we learn are that Leonard is allergic to wool; Howard and Amy share a love for Neil Diamond; and Bernadette has the vicious competitive drive of a wolverine.

The Crazy Ones | CBS, 9 ET/PT

Robin Williams' TV comeback concludes its first season with this one-hour special. The Crazy Ones never reached the ratings heights some expected and CBS wanted, in part because it's so different in tone from the CBS comedies around it: Quieter, less frantic, sometimes even a little melancholy. But it was often very funny and always extremely well-acted, particularly by Williams, who is giving one of his best performances in years. His show deserves a second chance to find an audience.

Scandal | ABC, 10 ET/PT

Another series hits its seasonal end, as Scandal bows out after just 18 episodes. In this case, ratings problems have nothing to do with the early exit. The show cut production short to accommodate star Kerry Washington's pregnancy.
