TV tonight: 'Bones,' '2 Broke Girls,' 'Castle'

Bones | Fox, 8 ET/PT

Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) must track down the original tenant of their apartment (Hal Linden) and have him renew the lease or risk eviction on '2 Broke Girls.'

Tonight's apparent return of The Ghost Killer launches what is, in a way, an extended season finale, as the investigation heads in a direction that may ultimately impact Booth's career. Or not: Series do have a way of going back and forth on such things.

2 Broke Girls | CBS, 8 ET/PT

Hal Linden, star of one of the '70's best sitcoms, Barney Miller, guests on one of the current era's worst, 2 Broke Girls — a show that is probably beyond redemption, even by someone with Linden's talent. Still, if you're curious, he'll play the original tenant for the apartment occupied by Max and Caroline, who will be evicted if he doesn't re-sign the lease. Here's an idea: He refuses to sign; the two broke girls leave town, taking everyone they know with them; and a new show is created around Linden and a comparably accomplished group of actors by a better set of writers.

Castle | ABC, 10 ET/PT

And speaking of Barney Miller, Castle is about to revisit the show's decade, as the only witness to a murder is a man who thinks it's still the '70s. To gain his trust, Castle and Beckett have to act like the age of Laverne & Shirley, Three's Company and Charlie's Angels never ended — a delusion that no doubt brings joy to the hearts of many at ABC.
