TV tonight: 'CMA Country Christmas,' 'Mike & Molly'

Robert Bianco
USA TODAY
Steven Tyler joins Jennifer Nettles on ABC's 'CMA Country Christmas.'

CMA Country Christmas
ABC, 8 ET/PT

Jennifer Nettles returns as host for a two-hour special that, as the title indicates, puts a country spin on holiday music. Among the scheduled performers, not all of whom have CMA roots, are Alan Jackson, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Lucy Hale, Hunter Hayes, Little Big Town, Idina Menzel, Nettles, LeAnn Rimes, Michael W. Smith, Steven Tyler and, of course, Carrie Underwood. Because every country music special must include Carrie Underwood.

Mike & Molly
CBS, 8 ET/PT

In preparation for next week's third-season premiere, CBS is airing four of last season's episodes of Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell's sitcom — starting with an outing featuring Kathy Bates as a friend of Peggy who bonds with Molly. This sitcom slipped a bit last season, as its attempts to make Molly drive more of the comedy, and to cash in on McCarthy's sometimes wilder big-screen persona, made the series seem less warm and less distinctive. This week you can see if you agree; next week you can see if any lessons were learned.

The Last One
Showtime, 8:30 ET/PT

This 70-minute film, aired in honor of World AIDS Day, chronicles the history of the AIDS Memorial Quilt. Directed by Nadine C. Licostie, the documentary uses interviews and archival footage to examine the quilt's legacy and its current cultural influence.
