ATLANTIC CITY -  No bikinis.  No formal evening gowns. Now no Boardwalk Hall.

The Miss America Competition continues to evolve, and the historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall will no longer be its home, according to a report

"It doesn't make sense for it to be there. It's far too expensive to produce there," Matt Doherty, executive director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, said Wednesday, according to the report.

In a statement, the Miss America Organization agreed that production costs at Boardwalk Hall were prohibitive and said it was working with the casino board to find a new venue for this year's pageant, according to the report.

The Miss America Organization continues to look at other cities for future pageants, the statement said.
