'The Voice' recap: A flurry of steals and saves causes chaos in results show

It was a night of steals and saves on "The Voice."

The results on who is staying on the singing competition and who is going home were announced during Tuesday's show, following Monday's first-ever Cross Battles. But, there weren't a lot of goodbyes, thanks to each judge's steal and save.

Team Kelly Clarkson's Betsy Ade battled Team Blake Shelton's Kim Cherry. America voted Cherry to move on, following her singing-rap performance of Bell Biv DeVoe's "Poison."

There was a double steal right off the bat. Adam Levine and John Legend both hit their steal buttons three seconds into the 10 second window before Ade would have been eliminated.

"The Voice" judge John Legend admitted he'd "made some rookie mistakes in my life," but it wasn't enough to get him the singer he wanted for his team on Tuesday's show.

"We didn’t even have time to feel sorry for you," host Carson Daly quipped.

Levine reminded Ade that Legend let her go during the Battle Rounds, while Legend admitted that he's "made some rookie mistakes in my life." In the end, Ade went with Levine for the opportunity to work with three different coaches on the show.

Next up, the results for an unforgettable battle between Team Clarkson's Matthew Johnson and Team Levine's Domenic Haynes, who serenaded Clarkson Monday with Etta James' "Damn Your Eyes."

"I can't imagine a world where you are not on my team, so I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that’s the case," Levine told Haynes before the results were read.

The voters chose Johnson and Levine kept his word, using his save to keep Haynes on his team.

Team Legend's Maelyn Jarmon went head-to-head with Team Levine's Rod Stokes. Voters decided to keep Jarmon, but just like the competitors before, Stokes did not go home.

He was snatched up by Clarkson: "I looked you in the eyes last night and said, 'If you don’t make it, if America doesn’t get it, they will when you're on my team.' "

The  chaotic night of steals and saves did not end there.

Team Levine's Celia Babini and Team Shelton's Oliv Blu faced off, but it was Blu who was dubbed the winner by viewers. Babini wasn't going anywhere either, because Legend used his steal.

"Well Celia, I turned for you when you originally auditioned and I think you are unique," Legend said before hugging his new team member.

"We are halfway through the show and no one has gone home yet," Daly announced.

But, the happy times faded when Team Legend's Kayslin Victoria was knocked out by Team Clarkson's Presley Tennant. Team Legend's Lisa Ramey also eliminated Team Clarkson's Karen Galera.

Voters saved Team Levine's Mari over Team Shelton's Selkii, but Shelton had the final say, using his save.

"The only chance that I have of keeping my team together is to use this save right now," Shelton told Selkii. "I believe in every single one of y'all. If I got this card to play then you're coming with us."

Team Shelton's Dexter Roberts eliminated Team Levine's Andrew Jannakos.

The other sixteen singers will battle it out during the next Cross Battles on April 22. The only rescues left in the pantry are saves for Clarkson and Legend, and a steal for Shelton. Levine is done.
