TV tonight: 'Mom' guest star, 'Legends of Tomorrow'

Robert Bianco
USA TODAY

DC's Legends of Tomorrow
CW, 8 ET/PT

Well, this should be — let's go with interesting. When NBC’s Timeless went back to the Civil War, the team fought to protect the Lincoln assassination's place in the timeline. This week, our time-traveling Legends are headed back to the war as well, but they have a different battle on their hands. Thanks to an “aberration,” they’re fighting Confederate soldiers who have been turned into zombies. And we’ll just leave that right there.

John Churchill as General Ulysses S. Grant, Nick Zano as Nate Heywood and Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/White Canary in CW's 'Legends of Tomorrow.'

Pitch
Fox, 9 ET/PT

If anyone is sympathetic to the TV industry’s desire to gather its ad money, it's people in the newspaper business — but that doesn’t mean we’re enchanted by their ever-increasing efforts to pass off ads as plots. Which brings us to Pitch and an entire episode built around the huge endorsement deal Ginny signs with a well-known sporting goods company. Should said company care to see its name in USA TODAY, it can buy an ad.

Mom
CBS, 9 ET/PT

Rosie O’Donnell returns as Bonnie’s ex-lover and roommate in a very funny episode that finds Christy reconsidering her dream of becoming a lawyer. While Christy prays to God for guidance (despite Bonnie’s suggestion that she try Satan, because “I hear he gets things done”), Bonnie deals with Adam’s curiosity over her sexual past. As Bonnie says “Stop picturing it!”
