TV tonight: 'Dancing' finale, Thanksgiving comedies

USA TODAY

The Flash
CW, 8 ET/PT

Andy Samberg and guest star Jimmy Smits on Fox's 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine.'

Film director and comic-book fan Kevin Smith lends his talents to direct this outing of The Flash — and a pivotal outing it is. After weeks of Caitlin bemoaning the powers she’s hiding (and should probably keep hidden), she inadvertently lets loose and goes all Killer Frost on us. Determined to find Dr. Alchemy, she kidnaps Julian and even fights The Flash. While she’s frosting, Joe has a heart-to-heart chat with HR — Tom Cavanagh’s latest and this time writerly take on Harrison Wells. Hey, any character that keeps Cavanagh on the show is a character worth developing.

Mom and Dad’s Thanksgiving visits
Fox/ABC

Three sitcoms on two networks celebrate the upcoming holiday with parental visits and great guests. On Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox, 8 ET/PT), the visitor is Jimmy Smits as Amy’s dad, whom Jake is determined to impress. On New Girl (Fox, 8:30 ET/PT), Peter Gallagher returns as Schmidt’s father, who is heartbroken and, it seems, a dinner downer. And on American Housewife (ABC, 8:30 ET/PT), we get Wendie Malick as Katie’s mom, a former flight attendant who is far from Katie’s favorite person.

Dancing with the Stars
ABC, 9 ET/PT

A winner is announced and a prize is awarded. And before you can catch your breath, the whole cycle will begin again.
