TV tonight: 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center,' 'Black-ish'

Robert Bianco
USA TODAY

Arrow
CW, 8 ET/PT

Dolly Parton is one of the performers for this year's 'Christmas in Rockefeller Center' on NBC.

CW’s DC Comics superhero crossover continues on Arrow — which is also using the occasion to celebrate hitting the 100th-episode mark. The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) arrive in town to help Felicity fight the alien invaders. And she’s going to need their help, because Oliver has awakened to a new reality in which Robert and Moira (guest stars Jamey Sheridan and Susanna Thompson) are alive and well and Oliver's marriage to Laurel (Katie Cassidy) is looming. As you’d guess, our Arrow is in for another rude awakening.

Christmas in Rockefeller Center
NBC, 8 ET/PT

NBC’s Today team moves to prime time to host this annual holiday special, built around the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. While you wait for the lights, you’re also scheduled to get musical performances from Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, Josh Groban, Tori Kelly, Sarah McLachlan, Dolly Parton, Jordan Smith, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and Radio City's Rockettes.

Black-ish
ABC, 9:30 ET/PT

As it has done so many times before, Black-ish tackles a topic few other sitcoms would dare to touch, as Bow’s discomfort with Junior’s white girlfriend forces her to confront her own unresolved feelings about her biracial identity. Beau Bridges and Wanda Sykes guest star in this interesting and important series that, now more than ever, may just rank as invaluable.
