Stock market is open for trading Christmas Eve, but closed Christmas Day in 2019

Stocks have been on a tear so far in December, but investors are taking a break to enjoy holiday celebrations. 

The U.S. stock market will close early at 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Markets are closed Wednesday in observance of Christmas but will resume normal trading hours on Thursday.

The U.S. bond market will shutter early on Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET and will be closed Wednesday.

The stock market is open New Year's Eve, but the bond market closes early at 2 p.m. Both are closed New Year's Day.
