Tesla may team with BMW on batteries, chargers

Tesla Motors is weighing whether to ally with BMW over batteries and lightweight components, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tells a German publication.
Musk also reiterated he is looking at whether to work together on charging stations, as USA TODAY has previously reported.
Word of the possible collaboration came an interview with Der Spiegel, via Reuters.
Tesla makes the electric Model S sedan. The Palo Alto, Calif.-based company has made an impact on the auto industry with its technology. BMW makes the i3, an electric around-town car, and the i8, a plug-in hybrid sports car.
